What is pastafarianism?
Did you hear about Flying Spaghetti Monster? He is a main god in pastafarianism religion. Religious researchers describe pastafarianism (the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster) as parody religion what is some kind of protest against too big religion’s influence on politics and sociaty life.
The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster was established in 2005 in Kansas, USA by Bobby Henderson. Flying Spaghetti Monster is a nice and humorous god who likes beer and pirates. He created the world and the universe “after drinking heavily” and then planted all evidence for evolution. The first people were the pirates (and the less pirates live now, the more natural catastrophes we have). After death people are supposed to go to heaven with beer volcano. The prayers in the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster end with word “ramen”.
The Flying Spaghetti Monster didn’t give people commandments and he don’t punish people. He also know about food allergic and forgives people who can’t eat pasta. But he gave people 8 suggestion started with “I really would prefer you ddin’t...”, which concern living with respect to other people and living being (for example: don’t judge people for the way they look, they all are people too despite their gender, sex, look, nationality etc.).
Pastafarians celebrate every Friday – it is a holy day. The celebrate also “Holidays” (24-26 December), “Pastehach” (26 March – 6 April), “Ramendan” (9 July – 7 August) Halloween (31 October), “Talk like a pirate day” (19 September) and “International beer day”. They celebrate by eating a lot of pasta and drinking beer. Or – with their own ideas in that way they want to.
Pastafarianism is more popular as cultural phenomena with people who don’t like any other religions with its commandments and punishments, and lack of tolerance. The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is a place for everyone who loves pasta, loves people and want to be simply happy.
